Manage Policies
Protection Levels
Advanced Options
To create a new antivirus policy, log into the Flextivity Cloud web console and go to the Manage Policies page. Click on “Create New Policy” and select “Antivirus” as the type of policy to create. You can also give this policy a name to help you remember what it does.
On the left side of the screen, you will see a list of computers that have been authorized on your account. Choose the computers that should use this new antivirus policy. If you haven’t installed the Intego software on any of your Macs, this list will be empty and you will need to come back to apply this policy to devices.
Next, you will need to choose the antivirus settings that you would like to apply. You can choose from the following options, or create your own custom settings.
Disabled - Disable antivirus on your computers. Please note that this will prevent your employees from using any of the Intego antivirus features, including on demand scanning.
Minimum - Your computers will be protected by real time scanning, and we will automatically quarantine any malware that is detected on your computers. We will also perform a full system scan once a day at 6:00 pm. We will look for malware, as well as malicious scripts.
Average - Your computers will be protected by real time scanning, and we will automatically quarantine any malware that is detected on your computers. We will also perform a full system scan once a day at 6:00 pm. We will look for malware that targets Linux and Windows in addition to Mac OS X, so that you have an extra layer of protection for other computers on your network. We will scan email and look for malicious scripts, too. This is a good choice if you have a mix of Windows, Linux and Mac in your home or office.

We will scan email and archives, as well as look for malicious scripts, hacking tools and keyloggers. This is a good choice if you have a mix of Windows, Linux and Mac in your home or office and are concerned about your malware risk. However, scheduled scans will take a bit longer to complete.
Once you click save, your new antivirus policy will be saved and applied to any of the devices selected.
Allow Local Changes: If you enable this option, users can edit the antivirus settings directly from their client computers.
RealTime Scanning: The Real-Time Scanner constantly watches over your computer, protecting you from viruses and malware. It ensures the computer is protected at all times by scanning every file that is created, copied, modified or saved.
Action After Malware Definition Update: Lets you tell the scanner what to do after Flextivity downloads and installs new virus definitions. Virus definitions are updated regularly, and especially when new malware is discovered to offer protection against that threat. Therefore, you can automatically perform a new scan at those times to check for the latest malware by changing this option.
Scan e-mails: Scans incoming and outgoing e-mails, both for their content and any attachments they contain, during on-demand or scheduled scans.
Scan volumes when they are mounted: This is triggered whenever you mount a new storage device, whether local (such as a hard drive) or remote (such as a network drive). If the Scan read-only volumes checkbox is checked, the scanner will perform the action only on those volumes where it could change the drive being scanned (for example, to repair an infected file on a disk).
Scan archives: Archives contain one or more files, usually in a compressed format, so that they can be transferred easily and quickly. The scanner will look inside several popular types of archives, scanning not only the archive file itself, but also the files that it contains.
Enable low priority scan: This tells the scanner to use the least amount of system resources possible when running a scan for malware. (Scanning with low priority may increase scan times)
Ignore Time Machine Volumes: Time Machine is a backup software application distributed with Mac OS X. Ignoring these volumes will improve scanner performance. Files restored using Time Machine are automatically scanned by Real-Time Scanner.
Add Trusted Path: Offers the option to add files, folders or volumes to a list of Trusted Items. The scanner will assume that these files are all safe and will not scan them.
Once you have enabled scheduling, you can create Daily, Weekly or Monthly scans for any time you like. Scheduled scans will run as long as the device is powered on and scan all user files even if they are logged out.
Block external volume mounts: Prevent external volumes from mounting
